One of the most convincing ideas that Carr mentioned in the fourth chapter of The Shallows is found on page 62. He said "Many of new books were of a technical , intended not for leisurely or scholarly reading but for practical reference. " Here, he described on what has been going on around our daily lives, especially in its relation to the books that we read nowadays. I could guarantee that more than half of the population in this world would opt for a medium where he or she wants to indulge in a relaxed manner instead to -boring-thinking type. This had gradually impacted our brain in our ability to perceive extra knowledge; making us even more dull in problem solving and understanding sciences. I believe that these was not the case for our ancestors during the last ten to hundred of decades ago. The limited amount of resources for publishing restricts the content of the media; making it available for only educational and scholar based information. This also denotes that our ancestors in the old days had the capability to use their brains in a very beneficial order compared to the new generations; who were 'blessed' with technology that implicitly alter the path of how our brain should  function.
