stukel post 9

In Carr’s book The Shallows, he makes the argument that the Internet is literally changing our brains, and affecting the way we think. One argument he makes for this that I found especially effective is his argument, about the way that scientists have literally seen the cortex of a monkey’s brain alter itself, due to certain behaviors that it adapts on page 25-26. He believes that in many ways the brains of humans can change when we adopt certain behaviors as well. This is a valid argument as it has been proven through scientific experiments. It exemplifies the rhetorical strategy of logos, as it uses logic to make its argument. It also forces the reader to think about how if adopted behaviors force the brain to change its physical structure; it is feasible that they also change our thought structure. Therefore, if using the Internet is an adopted behavior it could absolutely change the way we think.
